Lisa Heft is a member of Harrison Owen and Colleagues -- a group of Open Space facilitators around the world who offer workshops to share learning about the method Harrison originated and about its use in inner, group, organizational, community, societal, environmental, and global peacemaking.

All Open Space facilitators, and many of you readers, practice peace each time you bring people together to fully listen to each other and to develop individual and group appreciation and learning about their differences and their similarities.

The workshop approach is different in every location and with every different facilitator, as we have gathered together as colleagues to share learning about how to 'teach' people what they already know inside. But each uses Open Space as both the process and the focus of the workshop. Programs at some sites are structured in three parts -- Part 1 being an overview learning of the method of Open Space; Parts 2 and 3 sharing how Open Space may be used as a leverage point for the practice of peace, the transformation of organizations, and the development of effective leadership. In some other sites -- such as in Ms. Heft's Opening Space Learning Workshops -- the program is structured as one complete workshop with all of these components included. All reach the same objective: to bring people together to jointly explore the world of Open Space and the practice of peace.
