Open Space Technology -- Learning Workshops
O p e n i n g S p a c e Learning Workshops

The 2.5 day workshops bring together those who are new to the method and those who have experienced it -- an opportunity to share your learning and understanding and to prepare yourselves or further your learning for facilitating your own Open Space. Develop a theme, experience an Open Space, and discuss how to design, prepare hosts or clients, coordinate and facilitate the meeting and help organizations or communities support the actions and momentum that come out of the meeting.

Required reading as a prerequisite:

Please read "Open Space Technology: A User's Guide" by Harrison Owen before you arrive.

You can order this book through your local bookseller or any on-line source such as Amazon.com -- you can also order it at a slight discount off the retail price through the Open Space Institute of the US at: http://www.openspaceworld.org/wiki/wiki/wiki.cgi?BooksAndVideos

Either way, we will expect that you will come to the workshop with an understanding of the method and theory from your reading. If you have any challenges in taking in information by reading and if your finances allow you can schedule a telephone or in-person appointment with me to learn via a conversation - allow about one hour for this appointment.

This workshop is offered several times each year in San Francisco -- and you can also host the workshop in your city or country. Ms. Heft has facilitated workshops on four continents and looks forward to bringing this workshop to your home site.

For workshop dates please see the calendar on this website

The Investment

Fees vary based on where the workshop is being held. If you would like more information on the fees for the San Francisco workshop, contact me at lisaheft@openingspace.net. For workshops held in other cities and countries a fee structure or other sources of funding are developed with the host-sponsors of the workshops in those sites. Fees include all workshop activities and handouts, continental breakfasts, lunches, snacks and beverages.

The Facilitator

Lisa Heft is the facilitator for most of these workshops -- in some locations she co-facilitates with other local Open Space facilitators.
