Expanding Our Now
What is Open Space Technology, and why does it work, particularly when it apparently violates all the rules of meeting and organizational management? The global experience to date is described and the search initiated for the new rules by which Open Space operates. It seems to have more than a little to do with self-organizing systems and ancient mythology.

The Practice of Peace
Harrison Owen's newest book, The Practice of Peace, is only available through the following Open Space Institutes and colleagues around the world:
Another interesting book is Open Space Technology: A User's NON-Guide. This is community-authored by 37 members of the global Open Space learning community; compiled by Michael Herman and Chris Corrigan. You can download a free copy at the following web address:

And a great book comparing Open Space to other large-scale change processes is Peggy Holman and Tom Devane's The Change Handbook. This is an overview of a number of large scale intervention methods including Open Space Technology. The book discusses every method and includes a very practical comparison matrix and many case studies. And it offers suggestions for further reading for each method. This is a great reference work that explains clearly when to use a certain method and when not to use it.
This book, too, can be ordered through your local bookseller or an on-line service -- it can also be ordered at a slight discount off the retail price through the Open Space Institute of the US at: http://www.openspaceworld.org/wiki/wiki/wiki.cgi?BooksAndVideos
